  9. The "patch" you have just downloaded is a program that will update your copy of Flight Commander 2 (version 1.0 or 1.01) to version 1.02.

  11. INSTRUCTIONS:

After backing up your original Flight Commander 2 program (just for safety's sake) double click on the "FC2 --> v1.02 patch" file and a window will appear.  Click on the "patch" button.  A file dialog will appear.  Find the copy of Flight Commander 2 (v1.0 or 1.01) that you wish to update, and then click the Patch button.  That's all there is to it!

  44. *    Game in progress is now saved at the end of each turn to a file titled "FC2 Auto-Save File".  This autosave file will be placed in the same folder as the Flight Commander 2 application.

  46. *    The dialog windows that will appear during your play-by-email (PBEM) game are different (and simpler) than the ones described in the manual, although the general sequence of events is the same. Saving and restoring games in the middle of PBEM games also requires a brief explanation. Saved game files and email files are different. For this reason, to restart a PBEM game, use the "Load Play-By-EMail Game File..." menu item from the File menu.
